DIPTYCH-”LETTERA AMOROSA”-MALE AND FEMALE FIGURE- Inspired   by   the   renaissance   love   poem   in   the   form   of   a   letter,   written   by   unknown   poet   and   set   in   music   by   the   renaissance composer   Claudio   Monteverdi   (1567–   1643),   the   artist   has   created   a   diptych   that   consists   of   one   male   and   one   female figure. The   first   canvas   from   left   to   right   represents   the   lyrics   “…credete   a   questa   carta,   a   questa   carta   in   cui….”    which   means   “believe this letter, this letter in which…”and depicts a male figure. The   second   canvas   represents   the   lyrics   “sotto   forma   d’inchiostro   il   cor   stillai.”    which   means   “where   in   the   form   of   ink,   my heart bled.” and depicts a female figure symbolically holding this heart.
